Reality Rift vs TNC Predator

The first day of the playoffs is coming to an end, and we're left with a fairly uninteresting clash - a Best of 1 match between TNC Predator and Reality Rift.

Both of these teams will be fighting for redemption. The one that wins will advance further into the Lower Bracket. The one that doesn't, however, will no longer be able to compete in Leipzig. In short, there's a lot on the line.

On the one hand, we have Reality Rift, a fairly new team on the scene. They formed in June of 2019 and the Leipzig Major is the first big tournament they're a part of. We’ve seen them compete in a couple of Minor events throughout last year (with a couple of solid achievements), but they've never faced against the very best teams in the world -- up to this point. They're looking fairly okay at the moment, however we still don’t have a big enough sample size to fully judge their play and assess their power level. That said, their first place finish in the Southeast Asian qualifiers means they're at the very least a solid, albeit inherently flawed challenger.

TNC Predator, on the other hand, might be the biggest disappointment of the tournament so far. Their masterclass performance in Chengdu made the world take notice, and they've shown an immense amount of potential overall -- we all thought a brand-new titan emerged on the scene. But their ONE Esports Invitational showing left a lot to be desired, and once all of a sudden, their immense hype train came crashing down (in record time).

From the very top of the world, to the Lower Brackets.

No one knows what really happened, but they obviously lack the stamina to compete after the Outlanders update. Patch 7.23 stifled them in so many unexpected ways.

Their loss to Nigma is acceptable, but their 0-2 debacle against Team Aster, however, simply isn't.

We all know of their potential, and we know that they're capable of playing at an insanely high level. That said, we haven't seen the TNC of old in quite a while now.

These two teams already fought during the Southeast Asian qualifiers, where Reality took home a commendable 2-0 win. This, in a way, is enough reason for us to side with the underdogs yet again. They're still somewhat inexperienced as a five-man line-up, but they've shown a fair bit of potential recently and they're thriving in the current meta, which *should* be the deciding factor against TNC.
