Philadelphia Fusion vs Seoul Dynasty

This is where things get a whole lot more interesting: Philadelphia Fusion vs. Seoul Dynasty is arguably the first "top-tier" clash of the day and boy is it a good one! We're talking two exceptional line-ups packed to the gills with talent! If these individuals play to the best of their ability, we should be in for one heck of a ride!

That said, the odds are somewhat strange which, in all fairness, isn't what you want to see whenever you're putting your hard-earned money on the line. Generally speaking, the Philadelphia Fusion should be favored — they have historically been one of the best and most consistent teams in the Overwatch League and are basically a shoo-in for this year's finals as well. Now sure, a lot of time has passed since we've last seen them in action, but they've earned our benefit of the doubt and have all the rights tools in their arsenal to once again ascend to the very top and keep their position for the foreseeable future.

Seoul Dynasty, however, have made their off-season count as they brought over the legendary Saebyeolbe and Anamo from the New York Excelsior. That alone means they'll have a much better shot at reaching the very top of the League in record time. The fact that Seoul have Profit and Gesture within their ranks as well is only further proof that they're well-equipped to rub shoulders with the very best teams the world of competitive Overwatch has to offer.

Will that be enough *right now* though? Their long-term potential is undeniable, but they're still lacking synergy. Sheer firepower is great and all, but if it isn't harnessed correctly and directed in the best possible way, then it's just brute force — there's very little nuance involved. We know they'll eventually climb the standings but we first need to see them in action before we can actually judge and assess their overall power level. This holds true for each and every single team, of course, but at least the Fusion didn't change all that much during the course of the off-season. That's more of a good thing than a bad one given just how darn impressive they were back in 2020. Whether they'll be able to rekindle that spark and once again compete at the highest of levels still remains to be seen, but the odds are certainly on their side.

Either way, we're going to side with the Fusion on this one primarily because of their pre-existing synergy. That alone should be the determining factor, although it's worth mentioning that this truly is as even a match-up as it gets — Seoul definitely have a puncher's chance and should not be underestimated whatsoever!
