OpTic Gaming vs Rogue

DreamHack Open Austin 2018,

StarSeries i-league is the current offline event to be watching if you want to be seeing more international teams duking it out for a share of three hundred thousand dollars. However, for the fan of the home nation of North America, maybe you'll want to peer on over to the DreamHack Open in Austin, Texas. This event will be showcasing many up and coming North American teams as well as a few European Teams who've flown in to participate. This tip, in particular, we will be focussing on the best of one match between teams Optic Gaming and Rogue. Without further introduction, let's get started.

OpTic Gaming :

Optic Gaming recently traded away there last two remaining North American members in order to complete the full Danish line-up that we see at this event. Consisting of former North and Heroic players, Optic gaming has found themselves more comfortable with a full squad of the same nationality. This has to lead to an increase in overall play and each member of the team is going back to the old form of there prior days. Konfig has stepped up especially, he currently holds a rating of 1.15 and leads the charge against his opposition.

Optic Gaming's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 10-9, Mirage is 8-9, Train is 8-8, Nuke is 6-1, Overpass is 2-5, Dust 2 is 0-1, and Cache is the permaban

Rogue :

The last time Rogue played was in the offline finals of ECS Season 5 where they won against eUnited, another strong up and coming North American team. This was a big win for Rogue, but now that they have made it to DreamHack Austin, this gives the team the ability to prove there worth even more. The player to look out for the most is Cadian, who in the last three months hold a rating of 1.14. He will be rivaling config in-game as the dominant rifler in the server.

Rogue's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 8-13, Train is 13-6, Inferno is 12-6, Overpass is 9-8, Cache is 3-4, Nuke is 5-2, and Dust 2 has yet to be played

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one series. Which means that each team will ban three maps and the map left over will be the one played. OpTic will want to ban out Overpass, Cache, and Inferno. While Rogue will ban out Nuke, Dust 2 and Mirage. The final map will likely be Train and because of this I favor Rogue because of there overall win rate, however, the level of teams that Rogue has gone up against aren't the greatest and I feel Optic gaming will give them a run for there money.

Final Thoughts:

Dissecting both of these teams we can see that Rogue is starting to play more as a team, but OpTic's ceiling for talent reach far longer that Rogue. Though the new Optic Gaming has only been with each other for only a few weeks now I feel that can put up a much better fight now that they have established a full Danish team. I see OpTic Gaming winning this game. Medium bet on Optic Gaming.
