NRG vs Team Liquid

ESL Pro League Season 7 North America ,

With a vast amount of on line matches today, it would only do them justice if we decided to take a step into the North American scene and predict a game. Today's game comes from the outlining teams of North America; Team Liquid and NRG. Both of these teams have been out of the spotlight as of recent due to the move of Cloud9's Stewie2k to SK Gaming. A massive move for the North American scene, but Teams Liquid and NRG have been slowly progressing and now we will get to sere these two take it to the server the duke it out to see who will come out on top.

Team Liquid :

Team Liquid have been doing pretty solid work over their lat 3 months as a roster. Rumors are had that former SK Gaming member TACO might be joining, though it is unclear as to whose place he will be taking. Right now the best 1 for 1 trade in everyone's eyes is TACO for Steel; the only Brazilian member of Team Liquid. I feel this would be the right move as every other player of Team Liquid is solidified in their roles and Steel has had mixed results since joining the team. The experience that TACO has might dramatically help the chances of Team Liquid getting deep tournament runs.

Team Liquid's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 18-11, Inferno is 14-6, Train is 13-6, Overpass is 8-5, Cobblestone is 9-3, Cache is 1-2, and Nuke is 1-2

NRG :

NRG in their recent form has been nothing less than outstanding. Their win rates are through the roof and even though they are still ranked third in all of North America, behind teams Liquid and Cloud9; their performance I believe is above both of those squads. The additions of Cerq and Brehze have been unparalleled. I feel NRG is making a new wave of talent for North America, the only problem is that Cloud9 and Team Liquid have such strong brands that it will be difficult to make the team marketable, which is unfortunate because this means that even though NRG is better, other North American teams will receive more invites to events over them.

NRG's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 11-1, Inferno is 8-3, Overpass is 6-2, Nuke is 5-1, Train is 5-1, Cache is 3-1, and Cobblestone is 2-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of two with each game represented as an individual game. In this tip we will be focusing on the second game on Mirage, This map is the single best map from both of these squads. This means that their is no real advantage I can give to one team or the other, however NRG have produce better results and have a higher win percentage. They have also beat Team Liquid on this map three times in the last three months. NRG have yet to lose to Team Liquid on this map.

Final Thoughts:

Even though this match up is taking place on a map where both of these teams shine, I have to give the advantage to NRG because they are playing incredible counter strike right now, and that they have beaten Team Liquid on Mirage three times and have yet to lose on Mirage with their current lineup. Playing the odds and going a medium bet on NRG.
