Ninjas In Pyjamas vs Astralis

SL Pro League Season 7 Europe ,

Playing off of two successful days in the online North American pro leagues we now look towards the European scene in the case of Astralis vs Nip. Both of these teams will be playing in a best of two where each game is counted as an individual game. We will be mainly focusing on the second map of the day top be played; Overpass. Breaking down each team and looking at individual talents from each side will be what we focus on primarily. Without further delay, let's take these teams under the microscope.

Astralis :

Coming off of the Dreamhack Marseille vistory, Astralis find themselves back in the drivers seat by being the number one rated team in the world. Taking out Fnatic, Navi, and Faze in order to make the title was no easy feat and in game leader Glave is doing an exceptional job guiding the young talents of Device and newcomer Magisk. Magisk has more so proven that he deserves to be on the number one Danish team in the world. From his time with Dignitas under MSL to his time in North America with Optic, it has been nothing but a transitional period for him and now we is somewhere comfortable and making a new name for himself. Players to be on the lookout are Device who has a rating of 1.29 rating, Dupreeh who has a 1.20 rating and Xyp9x who has a 1.23 rating.

Astralis's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 18-6, Mirage is 13-4, Overpass is 10-3, Train is 7-3, Nuke is 7-1, Cache is 3-2, and Cobblestone is the perma ban

Nip :

Having an exceptional run at Dreamhack Marseille, Nip find themselves back in their home turf with no trophy. Looking at their run they had one of the best showings in a while. Defeating SK gaming in groups and taking down world rated number 2 Mousesports in the quarter finals is not an easy accomplishment. Unfrotunately for Nip they fell short to Fnatic and were out of the event. They had a great showing, and I can see them doing great things in the forseeable future. Right now on Overpass be on the look out for Draken, who holds a 1.26 rating on Overpass.

Nip's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 13-5, Train is 10-6, Mirage is 3-6, Overpass is 4-3, Nuke is 1-5, Cache is 4-1, and Cobblestone is 1-3

Map Pick/Ban :

This match up will be played on the map Overpass and therfore doesn't require a pick or ban. As of a mpa advantage I give a favor to Astralis, as they are well known for their Overpass and their individual player ratings are better as well as their overall win rate.

Final Thoughts:

Looking at these two teams and the damage they can cause to other organizations in the league is astounding and I can't wait to watch these teams play against one another. However I do have to pick one team to win, the team I favor most in this match up is Astralis. Their Overpass is nearly unstoppable and the ratings of each individual player is through the roof. This along with their form and win rate pushes them over the finish line for me. Medium bet on Astralis.
