IEM Sydney 2018,

Following a horrendous run from the former best team in the world; SK Gaming, we are back with another tip for IEM Sydney 2018. Out of the current matches, this match-up between teams Mousesports and MVP PK is the only game where I can comfortably predict. Fnatic vs Astralis, G2 vs NRG, and Faze vs Cloud9 will all be insane matches and I hope to be able to watch them in their entirety. However, this space is dedicated to informing you, the reader, on the best decision you can make with your money. As a tip writer, I cannot advice putting money down on any other game in the event except for this one. Let's get started.

Mousesports :

From winning a best of one series against Boot to then losing in a best of three series against event defending champions Astralis, we find Mousesports fighting for there event lives. The confidence level for Mousesports was high after day one of the event where ChrisJ and co dismantled Boot 16-6 on Mirage. However this confidence did not last long as world number one Astralis came into the series gun blazing and took down Mousesports 2-0 on maps Inferno and Nuke, with the scorelines being that of 16-9 and 16-5. Mousesports will be fighting for there existence and will have to do everything in their power to pull off a win in order to make the playoffs.

Mousesports's maps are as followed; Mirage is 24-5, Inferno is 10-8, Train is 9-7, Overpass is 7-4, Nuke is 5-2, Cache is 1-0, and Dust 2 has yet to be played.

MVP PK :

This team is most notable for their almost upset against the world famed Virtus Pro. In this event, however, MVP PK got quite an easy run after their day one defeat against G2, the French superteam. After losing day one 5-16, MVP PK geared up for day two where they took down Chiefs; a tier 3 Australian organization, on there own home turf. They won the best of three series 2-0 on maps Nuke and Inferno, 16-14 and 16-8. Be on the lookout for the want of MVP PK to play Nuke as it is a map they did not pick but have had luck on.

MVP PK's maps are as followed; Inferno is 15-7, Mirage is 7-4, Nuke is 3-4, Train is 3-2, Cache is 2-1, Overpass is 0-1, and Dust 2 has yet to be played.

Map Pick/Ban :

This will be a best of three series where the winner will make the playoffs and the loser will be eliminated. This being said each team will ban two maps and pick one, the leftover map will be the deciding map choice. Mousesports will likely ban out Inferno and Dust 2. MVP PK will ban out Mirage and Overpass. The maps remaining are Nuke, Train and Cache.

Final Thoughts:

MVP PK aren't a team I see making the playoffs in this event, they have struggled against worse teams than Mousesports and the overall team charisma of Mousesports is one of the best in the world right now. The maps picks are also in the favor of Mousesports and I can't deny that Train will be an easy win for Mouse, if they can manage one more map win they will take the series. Medium bet on Mousesports is my prediction.
