mousesports vs North

ESL Pro League Season 7 Europe ,

After an amazing weekend full of Counter Strike action, we are back to the online leagues for the time being. First before we get into the analysis between teams Mousesports and North, I'd like to acknowledge Fnatic and their victory in the IEM Katowice Grand Finals. This was a best of five series that went all five maps, and on the final map they went into overtime and won against the all powerful Faze Clan. It was an amazing game and series and I highly recommend if you missed it, to go back and watch all the games and just see for yourself what a truly amazing series it was. But onto the online leagues for now, their are still games to be played and bigger events to qualify for! So let's get into it.

Mousesports :

Mousesports unfortunately did not qualify or get invited to play in IEM Katowice so for them they have had a little break after winning Starseries i-League against Natus Vincere. Mousesports played a wonderful series where every player on their team was doing their designated jobs and they came out on top. Though S1mple on NaVi playeda wonderful game and won the MVP for the event, Mousesports kept their cool and won cleanly. This Mousesports roster is becoming a force to be fearful of and I can't wait to see what other events they win this coming year.

Mousesports's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 19-8, Train is 9-3, Cobblestone is 4-7, Inferno is 5-5, Nuke is 5-1, Overpass is 4-2, and Cache is 1-2.

North :

North qualified for IEM Katowice and finished just shy of the quarter finals. Unfortunately for them, they went against some pretty heavy hitting teams and we're ultimately eliminated by NiP in a best of three series. They played rather well and both Mertz and Kjarbye have been wonderful additions to the squad, providing overall more firepower and a more reliable AWP setup. I can see north remaining a top 20 team, but it will be hard for them to win against some of the more dominant teams like Astralis, SK, and Faze.

North's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 7-4, Overpass is 4-3, Mirage is 2-4, Train is 1-5, Cobblestone is 0-5, Nuke is 1-0 and Cache is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

This online league is a best of two series, but each game is counted individually and each map is predetermined. In this specific game the match already determined is Train. Mousesports have a clear advantage on this map, boasting a much higher win rate than North.

Final Thoughts:

Though we as a Counter Strike community are still coming down from the high that is a large scale event such at IEM Katowice. With all of these online games needing to be played, it's best to re focus and see who can play after such a big event. In this particular match up, I highly favor Mousesports across both maps, however I favor them more so on Train. As Mouse have a higher win rate, have had a break since their last event, and won their last event using the map Train an an anchor to their success. Medium on Mouse
