ELEAGUE Major 2018 Main Qualifier Day 2,

Here we are in Day 2 up in the winners bracket. Both Mouseports and Na'vi took their first match up and won in order to advance to this spot, though some wins are more convincing that others, each respective team is here now. In this match up particularly i'm going for a bit of a fancy gamble. As I feel Mouseports is being a bit undervalued in this matchup, yes Na'vi are good, but Mouseports are no pushovers.

Mosueports:

Watching Mouse play is always a treat for me. Seeing old veterans like Oskar play along side a young superstar such as Ropz brings a smile to my face. Even when they do get taken out by a CT with no armor and a deagle. But aside from that Mouse brings a very unique approach to the game and because of this it, on the end of every execute they do it looks like they are in complete control or that a 6 year old child is calling the shots. Very high risk high reward style of play that often does get rewarded at these higher tiers.

Maps for Mouse are as following; Mirage sits way up top with a record of 10-5, Inferno follows at 7-7, Nuke is the hidden weapon and rests at a scoreline of 11-2, Cobblestone is 9-2, Train is 7-2, and finally Cache is 0-4. Overpass is Mouse's perma ban

Na'vi:

As of right now Na'vi are one of those teams that you watch just to see how much work S1mple will do by himself. Dropping 29 kills yesterday in order to secure his team a spot in the upper bracket of this qualifier was a joyous event to unfold. I believe he had two 4 kill rounds and if you go to his individual stats on yesterday's game, he had the most kills, most damage, most AWP kills, most first kills and the best overall ratings. S1mple is Na'vi.

The choice of maps for Na'vi are as followed; Overpass at 5-4, Inferno at 4-2, Train at 3-3, Nuke at 3-2, Cobblstone at 3-1 and Mirage at 0-1. Cache is Na'vi's perma ban

Map Pick/Ban:

So here where the fun is in this matchup! Na'vi's most played and won map is Overpass, but it will be auto banned by Mouse because it is their perma. Also in Mouse's favor is Na'vi's perma ban Cache, which is Mouse's worst map. Because of these automatic bans, we shift to 5 different maps where Mouse have a better record. Since the banning goes ban 2 first for each team then ban 1 each to get the final map. Na'vi will get rid of Cache and Nuke. Mouse will ban Overpass and Inferno. Na'vi will be forced to ban out Mirage and Mouse will ban Train to secure Cobblestone.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts on this matchup are actually pretty basic. S1mple is the carry for Na'vi and I haven't seen many results that could really shift that mindset, the picking up of Electronic has just caused S1mple to want to out frag him to prove he is the best CIS player. Mouse play more team based tactics and all of their players bring a unique individual style and with their coordination along with the fact that they will be playing on a preferred map, I see Mouseports taking this matchup in stride.
