Dreamhack Masters Stockholm 2018 ,

Onto round two of the Dreamhack Masters Stockholm and we will be looking more towards the upper winner's bracket. Each game is played today will be a best of three and therefore the better of the two teams will win accordingly. In this time around we will be taking a closer look at who will win between Mousesports and MIBR. Two very heavy hitting teams that got the unfortunate luck to be put up against each other in this second round. If I'm being honest, every match besides the Astralis - North game seems almost fifty-fifty. But I feel strongly about this match-up and I will do my best to break it down and show what team I feel will prove to be victorious.

Mousesports :

In their first ever offline event with the newest member Snax, Mousesports with very little practice time had to go up against the two most dominant teams in the world; Astralis and Navi. They lost to both of these squads but in between these two games they did manage to take a best of three series off of globally ranked #8: Fnatic. In this event, I feel Mousesports has come in much more prepared and will likely finish this event off in the top four if not in the finals against Astralis. In their first match against Gambit, Mousesports showed that they are a team to be feared by not allowing a team like Gambit to get close to completing the upset, with the scoreline of 16-7.

Mousesports's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 5-7, Inferno is 4-5, Train is 7-2, Nuke is 2-3, Dust 2 is 2-2, Cache is 2-0, and Overpass is the permaban.

MIBR :

In my first tip with MIBR facing off against Hellraisers in a best of one, I mentioned that fact that Woxic will not be apart of the team and therefore MIBR should have an easy time dealing with a tier 3 European team with no star player. With a stand-in, Hellraisers managed to take eleven rounds off the newly refurbished MIBR and if it wasn't for some highlight plays from Coldzera, I imagine MIBR would've actually lost that game. MIBR may have won the ZOTAC Cup, but they are far from stabilizing themselves in the upper tiers of the global rankings.

MIBR's map pool looks like this; Cache is 4-3, Inferno is 4-2, Dust 2 is 3-1, Overpass is 2-1, Mirage is 0-2, Train is 1-0 and Nuke is the permaban.

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three series, each team will ban out two maps, pick two maps, and the leftover map will be the decider. With the permabans of Nuke and Overpass, both teams will be losing a significant map in their pool. Mousesports will ban out Cache against MIBR. While MIBR will ban out Train. Leaving Mirage, Dust 2, and Inferno. The only map which doesn't favor Mousesports is Dust 2, which will likely be the leftover map.

Final Thoughts:

Looking at these odds, MIBR should not be in the favored odds. MIBR are still trying to find their feet again and have still not established a dominant performance that would have other teams play respectively towards them. Mousesports have taken some time off from events to practice with Snax and thus far have looked strong against opponents that shouldn't get close to touching a win against them. With the odds in Mousesports' favor and the map pools favoring Mousesports, I believe a medium bet on Mousesports would be the correct choice in this situation.
