ECS Season 5 Europe ,

ECS Season 5 Europe is upon us and providing some amazing Counter Strike games. If you have been at all watching the last few games that have been played, some real trends are taking place and both good and sub par team are having very close games and it has been a joy to watch. Just yesterday we have some excellent games between Faze and Virtus Pro, where the series went 1-1. The take away from that specific match up is that Virtus Pro, a team that is currently in a slump, actually took down the best team in the world on one of their better maps. This isn't to say that Faze can no longer compete, but that ECS is a different animal than the ESL Pro League. In the fact that ECS has more to offer than the ESL Pro League, mostly in terms of competitive play, seeing as their are only ten teams instead of ESL's fourteen. Those extra four teams in ESL can really bring down the competitive pool because the tip of the top teams are playing against low tier teams that barely scraped into the league. Just a thought, but let's get into today's series between Faze and Mousesports.

Faze Clan :

In recent form, Faze Clan have been very hit and miss with their online games. Not being able to close out big LAN events I think has put a tole on the team and each of them are respectively going through their slumps now as opposed to the big stage where they don't want it to happen. Losing out to Virtus Pro yesterday is not a foreshadowing as to where Faze will be in a few months and it's nice to see Virtus Pro stepping up. But, Faze needs to be more consistent in these Leagues so that they don't get complacent and think they will just happen to make finals in every event they go to, just because they are Faze.

North's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 9-5, Mirage is 12-3, Overpass is 8-4, Cache is 9-2, Train is 5-4, Nuke is 1-2, and Cobblestone is the perma ban.

Mousesports :

Mousesports is a sort of miracle team right now for me. Not a whole lot of huge names when compared to Faze, but this is a team that took chances on players who were inexperienced or just not performing and decided to stick with them and let new blood and experience breath fresh air into the lungs of the organization. In their most recent games that have been splitting series 1-1 in both ESL and ECS but their consistency and ability to lose by only a few rounds every game is remarkable consistent. I hope to see Mouse continue to build up to more big tournament wins in the near future.

Heroic's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 21-8, Train is 9-5, Inferno is 8-5, Cobblestone is 4-7, Nuke is 5-2, Overpass is 4-2, and Cache is 1-2

Map Pick/Ban :

This is an ECS match and has a predetermined map pick, the map being played today is Mirage. A favorite map for both teams but I will give a slight advantage to Mousesports as they have played in more in the last few months.

Final Thoughts:

Seeing the odds of this game I had to jump on it because I feel right now both Faze and Mouse can split series but with the first map being a map primarily won by Faze and the second map being one that Mouse can completely dismantle teams on, I feel the series will go 1-1, first map to Faze, second map to Mouse. Low and safe on Mouse, looking for that x2.25 win
