Made in Brazil vs NRG

ESL Pro League Season 8 North America ,

Today we will be dissecting two teams who will be having multiple games played on the same day. NRG and MIBR will be playing each other in their final matches of the day. NRG will have played six total games before even entering the series against MIBR. While MIBR will have only played two games before the beginning of this series. On top of the possible fatigue, NRG will be facing, we will be going over the map chosen for this particular matchup; Train.

MIBR :

MIBR is currently ranked third in the entirety of the ESL Pro League Season 6 of North America. MIBR have been slowly gaining more confidence after the arrival of their new coach YNK, who has helped them reach the semi-final of the last Major and various other deep event runs in the past months. YNK has been a great addition to the team and has helped with the communication issues that plagued the squad for so long. MIBR have been showing great results and are starting to show a similar composition and style to that of the last and great former SK-Gaming unit that won those back to back Majors oh so long ago. Today they look to take down NRG in a best of one.

MIBR's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 13-3, Cache is 9-5, Mirage is 8-3, Train is 10-2, Dust 2 is 7-3, Overpass is 5-3 and Nuke is the permaban.

NRG :

Currently, right behind MIBR in fourth place in the ESL Pro League Season 6 of North America, NRG got the short end of the stick today by having to play eight matches. Two against Luminosity, two against Rogue, two more against Luminosity, and now MIBR. It's been a long day and MIBR will have only played two against a handicapped Team Liquid. If NRG win the first map I will be impressed, however, Train is a different animal entirely for MIBR, it is the map that they were so dominant on back in the SK days. If NRG can tough it out and put up a decent fight against MIBR they will have my utmost respect.

NRGs's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 12-4, Mirage is 7-4, Nuke is 8-2, Overpass is 8-2, Train is 5-4, Cache is 2-3 and Dust 2 is 1-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one series, and because of the online format, the map will be Train. MIBR with a clear advantage here. Even though NRG does have a positive record on Train, they still play it less often that MIBR and their biggest defeat on this map come from MIBR.

Final Thoughts:

I really hate to put down NRG because as a team they are solid and they have continued to show that they deserve to be where they are in the competitive scene and deserve chances to prove themselves further. However, given the circumstances, I just cannot bring myself to see how they, after 7 games of competitive Counter-Strike, will compete against a team whose specialty is that of Train. MIBR should take this. Medium-High bet on MIBR.
