Luminosity vs SK Gaming

On today's match up of the ESL Pro League Season 7 North America, we have the battle royal of the Brazilians. We are talking about world number two SK gaming vs the third bets Brazilian team Luminosity. After day one of the ESL Pro league SK gaming is sitting at a record of 1-1 after dropping a map and winning a map against North America's Cloud9, while Luminosity have a current record of 1-1 after dropping a map and winning a map against Australia's prime team Renegades. Obviously their is some power level difference between these two teams and I'll go into some context when we break down each team, so let's get started.

SK Gaming :

SK Gaming have since dropped to the number two spot in the world after losing out in the group stages in the quarter finals of the ELEAGUE Major Boston and the semi finals of CS Summit, a local California laid back event. In both of these events they lost out to the number one and number two North American squads; Cloud9 and Team Liquid. North America seems to be adapting to the playstyle of SK Gaming and because of this I feel it will be difficult for SK to keep up in the North American scene, but they will almost always be Brazilians best.

SK Gaming's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 6-7, Overpass is 8-4, Mirage is 7-4, Cobblestone is 8-1, Train is 4-3, Cache is 4-1, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Luminosity :

Luminosity has been a team that ever since the current SK Gaming left the organization, they have been trying to recreate the Brazilian flare by bringing in other moderate Brazilian squads. However other than SK Gaming and Ex-immortals/100 thieves, no other team that has come out of Brazil has really impressed me all that much. Right now Luminosity sit on a Global ranking of 27th place, far far from SK Gaming and the other Brazilian squad. Luminosity had a rough time dealing with Renegades even after their prime carry NAF left for Team Liquid.

Luminosity's maps are as followed ; Train is 1-6, Cache is 4-2, Cobblestone is 1-2, Mirage is 0-1, Nuke is 0-1, and both Overpass and Inferno have not been played by this squad in recent form.

Map Pick/Ban :

Today's game will be a best of one series on the map Cobblestone. As you can see above, Luminosity have not played many games together in recent times and of those times when they have played on Cobblestone, they have lost two of the three total times played. On the other side with SK Gaming, they have played many more official games and of the last nine games they've played on Cobblestone, they've won eight.

Final Thoughts:

The odds for SK are going to low because they have every advantage in this match up to win. They are an overall better and more solidified squad, and are also dominant on the map that is being played today. Despite SK Gaming losing out to the two bets North American teams, I feel they will have little to no trouble in today's game against Luminosity. Medium to Heavy bet on SK Gaming.
