Los Angeles Valiant vs Dallas Fuel

2018-01-12 22:22:02Posted by Petar

For our first match of the day we have a very exciting clash between the Dallas Fuel (ex-EnVyUs) and the Los Angeles Valiant. (ex-Immortals)

Fans are still stabilizing after the Dallas vs. Seoul barnburner just a day ago, and with good reason. It was a struggle for both teams to assert dominance and swing the game in their favor. Even though Seoul emerged victorious with a 2-1 map lead, it was by no means easy. Dallas always had a good strategy in place, but they lacked in execution more often than not. It's understandable however as they're fighting against some of the best player in their respective positions.

Looking ahead though, they have nothing to be ashamed of as they put up perhaps even a bigger fight than many had expected. Effect is their hottest commodity nowadays, as the Korean DPS prodigy dealth 28% of Dallas' damage during the preseason. We've seen them dominate in the most unexpected of ways as well, with Chipshajen showcasing a masterful battle Mercy - juking and killing Fleta's Pharah twice in a row in the span of just a couple of seconds.

As for the Los Angeles Valiant, they continued their dominant win stream from the preseason to their 4-0 dominant win over the San Francisco Shock on the first day of the OWL. They were better in almost every way shape and form, and even though they almost lost their lead more than once - they were able to stay calm and consistent throughout their series against Shock and thus further improving their record to 2-0 over the San Francisco squad. Certain members stood out, with Soon having a field day on Widowmaker with the assistance of Fate's Orisa, as he was a force to reckoned with on both attack and defense as well. Fate

They also utilized both of their Genji players to great success - using Agilities for the more aggressive playmaking approach and Silkthread in those reserved, calculated strategies. It was a fantastic display of skill and overall synergy as was expected from a team that has this much history.

As for the head-to-head, these two teams already fought in the Overwatch Contenders: Season 1 tournament just a couple of months ago, with the Valiant finishing at a very disappointing sixth place and Dallas taking home the trophy.

This will be an extremely exciting match as both teams have a somewhat scirmish oriented playstyle, and we will also see how well Dallas really is when pitted against a hungry, in-sync team that is surely looking to get back to former glory. After seeing the Valiant play with so much confidence, this should by no means be an easy match but the boys in blue should be able to secure the win.
