Los Angeles Gladiators vs New York Excelsior

For our second match of the day we have a clash between the New York Excelsior and the Los Angeles Gladiators.

The last we've seen of NYXL was an absolute masterclass. There is a reason why they're highly feared and respected at the moment as they're simply steamrolling their opponents regardless of the lineup they go for. As if Libero, Pine and Saebyeolbe weren't enough, they even have the most aggressive, bloodthirsty Zenyatta in the entirety of the Overwatch League - Jjonak. They're perhaps the most dominant out of all three Korean teams, but until we see them face up against Seoul or London we will just have to wait and theorize.

As for the Gladiators, it's still tough realistically ranking them as they've shown fantastic skill and synergy against lower tier opponents but are almost always steamrolled when facing the Korean giants. That said they played surprisingly well against Seoul Dynasty, always pushing them to the the very end of the time count (especially on defense) and they managed to have one of the most exciting reverse sweeps against the Philadelphia Fusion two days ago. They weren't that clean however, as they fell pray to the dangerous Philly DPS duo - Carpe and Shadowburn, especially on Junkertown and Anubis. They did pick up the pace however with a strong hold on Ilios and a fantastic showing on Lijiang Tower. (with Hydration pulling out his staple Doomfist on defense)

Sadly for the Gladiators, they're most likely to get outclassed on all fronts much like their hometown brethren. The way New York played against the Valiant yesterday was a phenomenal showcase of skill and teamwork. That said, the Gladiators are fearless, they're not fazed by the fact that they're playing against a Korean giant - to them it's just another random group of six enemies. That could spell trouble for the New York squad.

While it probably won't be as easy, New York should come out victorious.
