London Spitfire vs Seoul Dynasty

For our third match of the day we have a fairly interesting clash between the London Spitfire and the Seoul Dynasty.

The Spitfire had a pretty underwhelming stage so far as their level of play was a far cry from what they've displayed throughout the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. That said even though they dropped quite a few matches they were almost always fairly competitive. They're entering week 5 after a phenomenal 4-0 showing against the San Francisco Shock which is nothing to scoff at - teams like New York and Boston had a far tougher time handling Danteh, Architect and the rest of the Shock. They're finally getting back to their old form but they're still taking their sweet time in doing so. They know nothing's on the line right now so they're taking each match as a chance to improve and iron things out which is the right mindset and approach in the long run.

As for Seoul this is do-or-die when it comes to Stage 3 playoffs but even though they have a chance in theory it's still quite a long shot mainly due to their mediocre map and win/loss record. The stage three playoffs aren't really what's at stake here - Seoul need to step up because they're starting to lose more than they can afford and their overall season playoff spot could be slipping away from them. If they don't start stringing wins and playing like everyone is expecting them to then they would be able to reach the Top 6 which would be quite the debacle for the former Lunatic-Hai squad.

There are still a ton of problems for Seoul. They're not that good at anything right now and they lack a concrete identity. Their DPS duo is performing rather well these days but it's not enough - especially seeing how Tobi and Ryujehong aren't. They're racking up a far greater death count than before and it's affecting the team's play as well. Seoul looked best when Fleta was able to pop off however he's playing far too passive nowadays and it's understandable - his teammates aren't creating ample space for him to do what he's best at. At the end of the day we don't know their problems and what's going on behind the scenes but they're just not a top tier team right now - not even close.

After weeks of mediocre play they barely managed to take down Philadelphia in a five map brawler and even though they emerged victorious there essentially wasn't a winner after that series. It was a sloppy performance on both sides and the team that made less mistakes eventually won which really isn't what you want to see at this level of competitive play. Two days later they were completely and utterly demolished by the New York Excelsior in what was one of the more one-sided matches this Stage. New York was obviously in a hurry or they really wanted vengeance as they started swinging right out of the gates and it paid off immediately. Seoul was too lost and couldn't adapt nor perform when pressured from the Excelsior.

In essence this is a very tricky match to be betting on but it could also be a source of some solid income. While neither of these two teams are making waves right now, London is favored and with good reason. They might not be playing their best Overwatch right now - not even close - but they're still a force to be reckoned with and when they come to play they're one of the best teams in the League. Even in their weakened state they should be able to take down Seoul in 3-1 or 3-2 fashion.
