Invictus Gaming vs beastcoast

For today’s second match we have a promising skirmish between Invictus Gaming and Beastcoast. Now, we’ve already seen these two teams clash against each other just a few days ago when Invictus Gaming swept the floor with the Beastcoast line-up in clean 2-0 fashion. This one should, by all means, go in the Invictus’ favor as well. That said, Beastcoast had enough time to prepare, come up with different strategies, and will definitely have a puncher’s chance.

In other words, they should not be underestimated.

In their previous match, Beastcoast started out as aggressively as possible. They were putting pressure on every lane but Invictus didn’t need a lot of time to read through their game plan, adapt to their movement and turn it all around in their favour. Once the mid-game came along, both of the teams were all over the place, exchanging kills and slowly clawing towards victory. In the end, however, Invictus was simply better when it mattered the most.

Once the second game began, Beastcoast tried their best to adapt. They were much more aggressive, they rotated far quicker and ganked as best they could to cancel out Invictus’ progression. It was a nice, back and forth game up until Invictus once again took control over the game and snowballed to victory. The game was tight in certain moments but Invictus knew when to back up, slow down, and take advantage of Beastcoast’s flaws.

Invictus Gaming is a team consisting of some of the best players in China, which is why they’re often called “China’s pride”. They entered the Chengdu Major with a huge amount of hype behind their backs after winning Dota Summit 11 and losing just two games during the whole tournament.

They also have an exceptional carry Zhou "Emo" Yi, who has never failed to surprise us with his mechanical prowess and talent while only being eighteen years old. He has always been able to put up a fight, even when the odds were against him, and a lot of it comes from having his team always there to back him up.

They lost the first game against Fnatic due to bad draft, but once they entered the second game everyone was on the same page. They were angry and played as a unit, which was more than enough to get the win in games two and three.

Beastcoast is a fairly new South American team, considering how they only have two years of competitive Dota behind their backs. They are not exactly top-tier yet, but are definitely on the rise and have shown enough over the last couple of months to earn our respect. They managed to dominate in both of their lower bracket games but are now once again facing a top-tier challenger. But seeing how they already lost in convincing fashion, it’s hard to give them any benefit of the doubt.

Because of this, we have to side with Invictus Gaming. How could we not? As far as this match is concerned, history should definitely repeat itself.
