GODSENT vs Astralis

2017-11-22 18:32:52Posted by NocturaCS

ECS Season 4 Europe,

"Mirage" is the predetermined map of choice today and because of that we'll look at past stats on mirage and some standout players.

Today's matchup is between the Astralis and GODSENT. These teams have met before going reepctively 1-1 against one another, but both of those game were played with different rosters. Today for Astralis, we have Jacob "Pimp" Winneche standing in for Nicolai 'device' Reedtz who is still currently out with a stomach bug. On the flip side for GODSENT, they have two players on their team that are fill-ins for roster spots that have no been solidified. Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi and Hampus "hampus" Poser, are these two.

Astralis:

Due to Nicolai 'device' Reedtz sudden illness, and his lack of ability to play, Astralis as a team have been struggling. Going out in the group stages of IEM Oakland 2017, and even having to go as far as using their coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen, as a stand in for Device. Needless to say that for a recent period of time, Astralis is struggling. I hope they can pick up the pieces soon, but for now it's up to stand ins until Device comes back and the team is whole again.

"Mirage" is a fairly common played map for Astralis, in recent form their "Mirage" has a record of 9-8. Though this map in not a real common pick for Astralis, it still has to be played during their ECS League. As a whole Astralis has not played on this map since the 9th of this month and this map was not played at all in their most recent LAN of IEM Oakland.

GODSENT:

GODSENT right now is not a solid team by any means. They've been struggling to keep a roster together since it was originally started by ex-Fnatic's Markus "pronax" Wallsten. Even though this team is struggling to find new talent to bring to the organization, the team has some up and coming young members that can really do some damage. Simon "twist" Eliasson, is right now the most stand out player with a rating of 1.10. Though what is really catching my attention right now, is one of GODSENT's stand-ins. Hampus "hampus" Poser sits right now at a rating of 1.18 and more specifically on the map "Mirage" sits at a rating of 1.38. Which is absolutely monstrous.

As a whole, GODSENT have not had much success these past few months on any map, "Mirage" is their currently most played map. Standing with the record of 9-11. It is the closest on any map that they have a positive record, but not only that, it is their most played map as well.

Map Pick/Ban:

"Mirage" will be played no need to go through a ban phase.

Final Thoughts:

All and all, this matchup is a bit strange. With both teams having stand-ins I can imagine this will be a very PUG esc type game. This fact accompanied along with the facts that Astralis struggle on mirage and that Hampus "hampus" Poser is playing against them. I feel Astralis is the favorite, but will be toppled by Hampus and friends. This will also be Astralis' fourth game to be played today and I expect some levels of fatigue will start to hit. Hope for the upset and have a good time betting today.
