Dreamhack Open Tours 2018,

Taking a step away from the current excitement that is the ESL Pro League Season 7 finals, we are headed over to the Dreamhack Open Tours of 2018 to predict the outcome of an international game. CIS team Gambit will be taking on the North American uprising of Torqued in a best of one match in the group stages of group A. Filling this group along with these two teams, is Godsent and AGO; whom Gambit and Torqued will both be taking on in the near future. Since this is a best of one we will be going over each team's map pool and the prediction of the map pick and finally the decision on who will win the game. Let's get started.

Gambit:

After many solid runs in various event qualifiers, Gambit finds themselves competing again for another big stage offline event. This time it is a LAN event and this will not be online so I would expect more from Gambit in this series than any other. Gambit was invited to take place in this event, among the other invites; AGO, Hellraisers, North, Godsent, and Envyus were all invited as well. With any luck, through the efforts of new In-game leader Seized, Gambit will be able to top the group stages and make the playoffs at this event.

Maps: Gambit's map pool looks like this; Train is 10-10, Overpass is 12-7, Mirage is 5-9, Inferno is 3-6, Cache is 4-4, Nuke is 3-4, and Dust 2 has yet to be played

Torqued :

Torqued climbed through the North American qualifier in order to get to the offline event that is the Dreamhack Tours. They took down North American teams Ghost, Swole Patrol, and Complexity in order to earn the spot. Now they will have to take on Gambit in the first match of the group stage. Torqued have been making a name for themselves in the North American scene and are slowly regaining form to become the third or fourth best team in all of North America. With main AWPer Koosta posting large numbers, with a current rating of 1.13, he will be the main man to look out for in this event.

Maps: Torqued's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 13-10, Cache is 8-2, Mirage is 3-6, Train is 6-3, Overpass is 4-5, Nuke is 5-3, and Dust 2 has yet to be played.

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one series, so each team will ban three maps, and the remaining one map shall be the deciding map that defaults to be played. Gambit will want to ban out maps Nuke, Dust 2, and Inferno. Torqued will respond with the banning of maps Overpass, Mirage, and Train. Cache is likely the map to be played, this being said Torqued has some advantage but it is still a solid map for Gambit.

Final Thoughts:

Between these two teams, Gambit is of greater overall talent. Despite the critics on their style of play or the comparison of Gambit to the rest of the European region, in this instance, when playing against Torqued, Gambit just simply outmatch them. On Cache, Torqued has won more games, but Torqued has also played against lower-tier teams. Gambit should be able to take this game, medium-low bet on Gambit.
