Gale Force eSports vs Soar Gaming

Today, we have an excellent matchup on our hands for the lower bracket finals of the Cevo Main Season 13 North America. A game starring Gale Force eSports and Soar Gaming. The winner of this game will go on to face Rise Nation in the finals and the loser will be eliminated ad take 3rd place overall. This series is going to be a best of 3 games.

Gale Force eSports:

Gale Force was on a tear throughout this tournament. Beating Glockwork 2-0, Tempo Storm 2-1, and LMAO 2-0. They finally lost to the great Rise Nation 1-2 which sent Gale Force to the lower bracket. Where they now sit in wait of this game verses Soar.

Maps for Gale force in recent form have been hit and miss. "Mirage" is their most played and won map with 8 wins and 4 loses. Following up is "Inferno" with a record of 4-7. "Cache" and Overpass" share the same positive record of 6 wins to 3 loses. "Cobblestone" hits the 50/50 mark with a record of 4-4. "Train" sits negative at 1-2. And finally "Nuke" is the last on this list with a record of 1-1.

Soar Gaming:

Soar Gaming has had a different tournament run than Gale force, because in round 3 of the playoffs, Soar was put up and lost against Rise Nation 0-2. Dropping them into the lower bracket early. After losing to Rise, Soar went on to defeat Good People 2-0. Which brings us into our semi finals match today against Gale Force.

With a little more play time these past few months the records of Soar Gaming look very clean. "Mirage" and "Inferno" both share the most played map and the record of 6-4. "Nuke" surprisingly follows with a record of 8-2. "Cache" and "Cobblestone" both sit at the record of 5-2. "Overpass" sits 1-2 and "Train" comes positively last with a record of 2-0.

Map Pick/Ban:

From the looks of it, both Gale Force eSports and Soar Gaming tend to share the same top two maps of "Mirage" and "Inferno". Which makes this pick/ban tricky. The first two likely bans will be "Nuke" and "Overpass". Following these bans we will likely see a pick of "Cache" and "Cobblestone". The two remaining bans will be "Train" and "Inferno". The decider will likely be "Mirage".

Final Thoughts:

Their is a lot on the line for both of these teams in this matchup. These teams are fighting for a spot in the finals and their lives in this event. The victor will go on to face Rise Nation in the finals and the loser will be eliminated. This being said, I expect both teams to bring their "A" game and really have a great match. In this matchup I favor Soar Gaming. Though they lost to Rise Nation early, they took every other matchup they were in 2-0. Also going up against Gale Force, Soar will likely force them onto "Cobblestone" which is a map they have beaten then ob before and will likely try to take the second map for the victory elsewhere.
