IEM Katowice 2018 day 2 ,

Hello everyone, I am back. Took some time off because my day job got stressful as of late but now that things have stabilized in my life I can get back on track with bringing everyone some tips on who will be winning what Counter Strike games as they come up. Today we will be looking at a best of three series between French superteam G2 and the old but new Swedish Fnatic. I'm very excited to be covering this event because I have always loved IEM Katowice's events as they have been some of the best and most memorable of all Counter Strike events. I'd even go as far to say that IEM Katowice is more notable than most Majors. Back to the subject as hand, let's take a look at each of these teams and see where we will end up at the end of this best of three series.

G2 eSports :

The French super team got to where they are in the tournament now because of their win on Nuke against the home town hero's Virtus Pro. Though beating Virtus Pro isn't the greatest of accomplishments because of their current form, G2 has still advanced to a more upper part of this tournaments bracket. Surprisingly this event decided to have a first round best of one, followed by a second round best of three. This event also being double elimination losing one best of one and then a best of three to be eliminated doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me f i'm being honest.

G2 eSports's maps are as followed ; Cache is 4-2, Inferno is 4-2, Mirage is 1-3, Cobblestone is 4-0, Overpass is 1-3, Nuke is 1-0, and Train is the perma ban

Fnatic :

Fnatic unfortunately went out very early in the last LAN they played; the Starseries i-Legaue. An event in which Mousesports, a team that is not in this current event had won. Because of that poor performance, Fnatic for the first time in them being a Counter Strike Organization came in dead last. It's a very low point in time for this team and even though they did win the best of one series against Heroic, the 3rd best Danish team in the world. I feel Fnatic still have a lot of work to do before they can reclaim their upper tier one spot.

Fnatics's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 7-5, Mirage is 5-4, Cobblestone is 5-2, Overpass is 1-6, Train is 3-1, Cache is 1-2, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

This series is a best of three and with that being said we will see two bans from each team, one pick from each team, and a decider map left over. Starting with G2 they will ban out Train and will want to go after Fnatic's Mirage. On the flip side with Fnatic, they will ban Nuke and take out G2's Cache. The three remaining maps will be Cobblestone, Inferno, and Overpass.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts on this match up are that I feel that G2 and Fnatic are two teams who are both trying to find their feet this competitive world of Counter Strike. G2 does this thing where they like to dominate group stages and then completely collapse come the playoffs and Fnatic is a team where they can't seem to figure out who does what but as long as everyone is playing well, they win games. In this series I find that though G2 is struggling, they'll do their thing and win all the group stage series and then fall apart in the playoffs. That said, low bet on G2.
