G2 Esports vs Astralis

I lost a bet yesterday, thinking Renegades can win at least one round against G2, but they ultimately stomped them and won 2-0.

Today G2 ranked #4 from Le France is playing against Astralis ranked #7 from Denmark in the StarSeries i-League Season 4 with 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $300,000 in Kiev, Ukraine. This is a LAN tournament.

Both G2 and Astralis won yesterday, but G2 has lost only ten rounds over 27 of Astralis.

G2 has won last ten matches out of 20 with a win ratio of 50% and average opponent rank of #41,65.

Astralis has won nine of last 20 games with a win ratio of 45% and average opponent rank of #33,4.

Looking at these stats, G2 seems like a more favorable team, but these stats are for all last 20 matches, both lan&online, yesterday Astralis won against a faaaaaar better team than Renegades, so truth be told, Astralis is a better team statistically.

G2 loves to play on Nuke, Dust2, and Cache they have the best performance % on those maps.

Astralis loves to play on Mirage, Inferno, and Overpass, these are the most played maps so far on this tournament, so again Astralis looks like a more promising team to win.

One bad thing about Astralis is the new (old) addition of Magisk, but since he is a professional player, he has implemented in the team rather well (if we don't count the loss against Heroic).

But G2, on the other hand, also has some problems with SHOX, he has wrist problems. I thought those are some serious problems, but i noticed on his Twitter account that he only has a small cyst, and it doesn't affect his playstyle at all.

G2 has played very well in last LAN tournaments, only losing against Cloud9 FaZe and SK, but the optimistic stat is that they played only TWO tournaments over the previous four months.

Astralis is a bit shaky with these roster changes, but they are a very experienced team with LAN tournaments, and i believe they will win today.

As i said, i strongly believe Astralis is a better equipped and experienced team entering this match. It will be hard, maybe an over 2,5 maps look more promising, but the odds are too juicy to skip, and the odds on G2 are mostly high because they stomped Renegades yesterday, so clean bet on Astralis to win is my choice.
