Dreamhack Masters Marseille 2018 ,

With Dreamhack hosting what I think will be one of the best events of 2018, I am going to try and cover the majority of the matches to be played. Dreamhack Masters Marseille is a LAN event that will take place in Marseille, France.

Today we have the elimination matches being played by those teams who have won one game and lost one game. Out of the eight total teams and the four total best of three series to be played in this tip we will be looking at Sweden own Fnatic facing off against the Australian mix of Renegades. Stated before both teams are on the cusp of being eliminated or moving onto the playoffs of the event and because of this a lot is at stake and both teams will bring their A-Game in order to win.

Fnatic :

Looking a little flat today against Natus vincere, Fnatic have struggle agasint the CIS team in the past. Both Na'vi and Fnatic have a very similar style of rabid aggresion. Fnatic are usually the team to force the envelope and great pressure but Zuez leading Navi goes for a loose play style to compliment the top members of the team like S1mple and Electronic. This caught Fnatic off guard and because of this they ended up losing the series 1-2. Navi moves onto the playoffs and Fnatic have to fight for their life in this coming series.

Fnatics's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 12-8, Mirage is 14-5, Cobblestone is 11-7, Overpass is 5-8, Train is 6-2, Cache is 2-4, and Nuke is 1-0

Renegades :

The Renegades lost their first game of the event to Navi and because of this had to play an elimination best of one game that same day versus Tyloo. Fortunately for Renegades they came out victorious and now sit 1-1 overall without having to play a best of three series. So this will be their first best of three series of the event. Their victory over Tyloo was a mere scoreline of 16-12, by all means not a flashy or easy win. It was a grind of a game that Renegades so happened to come out on top of. They are still struggling as a unit and this best of three series will likely show it.

Renegade's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 8-9, Mirage is 9-7, Cache is 12-3, Train is 7-5, Cobblestone is 3-7, Overpass is 0-2, and Nuke is 1-0

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three and will involve each team banning two maps, picking one map each and the last map left over will be the decider map if the series goes to three maps. Fanatic will start with the banning of Nuke and Train. Renegades will reply with a ban of Overpass and Cobblestone. Fnatic pick Infenro, Renegades pick Cache, the decider will be Mirage.

Final Thoughts:

Despite both of these teams having similar map pools after the bans, Fnatic has played better teams than Renegades in the past in order to create that high win percentage on those maps. Fnatic have the map advantage and more skill than Renegades. Though the fluid style of Fnatic can be shut down by a structured team, Renegades struggle with their structure and I feel Fnatic will take the series 2-0 over Renegades. Medium bet on Fnatic.
