Fnatic vs Gambit Esports

Let's take a looking into the depths of the ECS Season 5 European League. In this match up specifically, we are looking at teams Fnatic and Gambit. These teams will be playing a best of two but each of the matches will be counted as individual scorelines. In the first match they will play on Cobblestone and on the second match they will play on Overpass. In this tip we will be setting our eyes on the first game to be played on Cobblestone.

Fnatic :

Right now Fnatic are in the best shape they have been in, in a very long time. They recently won both IEM Katowice and the WESG World finals of 2017. They have also gone 4-0 in their last four games played in this series of ECS. Fnatic are a very strong contender currently and with the recently updated rankings, Fnatic are currently residing at the number three team in the world. Only falling short to Faze Clan and Mousesports.

Fnatic's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 12-4, Inferno is 10-5, Cobblestone is 7-4, Cache is 2-5, Train is 5-2, Overpass is 3-4, and Nuke is 1-0

Gambit Esports :

Gambit have been struggling to say the least. Even though they have only replaced 1 of the members of their team since their victory at the Krakow Major back in 2017, they are a shell of the team that once was. Gambit is currently ranked sixteenth in the world and has been falling at a steady pace since their major victory. They have tired new talents like Fitch and Seized to help replace Zuez, their ex In game leader, but have found nothing to spark the team that went so far so quickly.

Gambit Esport's maps are as followed ; Overpass is 11-5, Train is 6-6, Inferno is 3-6, Mirage is 3-5, Cache is 3-3, Cobblestone is 2-4, and Nuke is 2-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of two with each game represented as an individual game. As stated above, the first match, which is the one we are looking at now, will be played on Cobblestone. Seeing as it is on Cobblestone, Fnatic have the definite map advantage. Cobblestone is a main map for Fnatic and Gambit have found little success on this map in their recent form.

Final Thoughts:

Looking at this series I find myself having to refrain from writing another tip on Gambit turning around and beating Fnatic on the second map to be played after this one. The second map will be Overpass and that is Gambit's top map. I would suggest if you have a little throw away money to go ahead and bet on Gambit for map two. But as for this first map, I have very little doubt that Fnatic will lose. They are looking incredibly strong and disciplined. Not giving away easy rounds and everyone that goes against them has to work for the win. Cobblestone has been a huge part of Fnatics map pool for a while and with that being said, the map advantage should be enough. Medium bet on Fntaic over Gambit Esports.
