ELEAGUE Major 2018 Group Stage Day 3,

Day three of the ELEAGUE Major group stage is here and we have a wonderful match up between two teams that now have a record of 1-1. The two teams we will be analyzing today are the Swedish superstars of Fnatic, Vs the number one team in all of Denmark, Astralis. These two teams have been having a lot of individual success and failure over the duration of last year and both of these teams have grown new play styles because of these instances.

Fnatic :

Fnatic has been on a losing streak ever since SK Gaming took over the number one spot in the world back in 2016, because of this Fnatic has blame each other, broken up the team, brought on new talent, and event got rid of their best performing member Olofmeister. The successes they have had was to reunite with 3 of the 5 member of the original squad and bring on two new Swedish young guns Lekro and Golden. These new member have been a breath of fresh air for the Sweeds and I hope they have success in the future.

Maps for BIG are as followed; Mirage is 11-4, Inferno is 7-4, Train is 6-3, Cobblestone is 5-1, Cache is 2-2, Overpass is 1-3, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Astralis :

With the recent health scare from AWPer DeVice, Astralis haven't had much luck in events with their lack of a full lineup. Using fill ins like their coach Zonic and former Fnatic member Denis, they have gotten deep into events but never were able to close them out. Now that Device is back with the team they might not be in full form, but they are definitely a lot more comfortable. Yesterdays win against North showed that. It was an amazing game and comeback by the Danes against the Danes.

Navi's maps are as followed; Inferno is 9-6, Train is 8-6, Mirage is 6-5, Overpass is 4-3, Nuke is 4-3, Cache is 0-3, and Cobblestone is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

Nuke and Cobblestone are the two perma bans and we will not see a map played on them this game. In terms of actual bans Astralis will ban out Fnatic's best map Mirage. Fnatic will respond with an Inferno ban, Overpass and Cache are the next residual bans and I do believe that we will see the game between these two teams played on Train.

Final Thoughts:

When it comes to these two teams and all of the drama surrounding their players when it comes to health or occupation or even qualifying for this event, it's been a real trip. I'm happy to see both of these squads getting a chance to compete at this level and try to keep their Legends spot. As both of these teams made the top 8 at the previous Major in Krakow. However, I just don't see Fnatic being able to compete for their spot again, I've seen a lot of promise out of a younger generation of teams and to top it off, this Astralis line up seems to get back again and ready to take down anyone. I'd say these are good odds for a bet on Astralis and a great game to tune in to!
