FaZe Clan vs Team Heroic

Dreamhack Masters Stockholm 2018 ,

The player break is finally over and we can get back to the regularly scheduled program that is CS:GO betting tips. Up first in the coverage of Dreamhack Masters Stockholm is the best of one game to be played between teams Heroic and Faze Clan. Both of these teams are acclimating to recent roster changes, however, Faze Clan has a slight advantage in their own roster change that I will explain in the team breakdowns. So without further introduction, let's find out which is the team I believe will take this round one.

Faze Clan :

Faze Clan is still a top-five team in the world despite their poor performance at the ELEAGUE Premier. A lot of fans blame the performance on the return of legendary Rifler Olofmeister, and there may be some truth to this statement. Olofmeister took a near 3-month personal break that the scene is still unaware as to why he did it, and even less is known about his play time during this break. Although it wasn't a lack of performance from Olofmeister that lead Faze Clan to leave the ELEAGUE Premier 0-2, having a newer member to a squad that has played roughly four to five large international events without him doesn't help. With Olofmeister back and apart of the starting roster, I feel Faze Clan will have no issues mending the issues that an abrupt return had caused them.

Faze Clan's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 6-3, Dust 2 is 5-2, Inferno is 4-2, Train is 1-3, Cache is 0-3, Overpass is 2-0 and Nuke is 1-0

Heroic :

The most recent news or Heroic is the one for one trade they made with their Danish counterparts North. Niko from Heroic was traded for Mertz, and some money might have been involved because this was not a fair trade for Heroic. After the Mertz' acquisition, Heroic played in the IEM Chicago 2018 Europe Closed Qualifier, where they came in 5-6th place after losing out to AVANGAR, winning against Valiance, and then losing to the former team of Mertz, North. This loss to North would end the event for Heroic and they would not make the qualifier. The team still has a lot to learn, not only adapting to a new teammate but also playing against higher tier opponents, Faze Clan could prove to be difficult for the young Danes.

Heroic's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 6-5, Train is 2-7, Cache is 2-5, Nuke is 4-2, Inferno is 1-3, Overpass is 3-1, and Dust 2 is 1-2.

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one series, so three maps will be banned out from each side and the last remaining map will be the one played on. Both of these teams have a very similar map pool, both struggle on Cache and Train and excel on Mirage and Overpass. If Karrigan from Faze Clan wants to be fancy in order to throw Heroic off guard, he may choose something other than Mirage, but from the stats and records of these two teams, Mirage is the choice I see. In which case I give Faze Clan the advantage.

Final Thoughts:

This is the first best of one game that will take place in group C and it will be one to watch. I'm curious on how both teams will play with their newer members and if Heroic will have what it takes to compete with a top-five team. At the end of the day Faze Clan have a much higher skill ceiling and their newest member is one they have previously played with in the past, I feel Faze Clan should win this 16-7 if I had to be specific. Medium bet on Faze Clan would do this justice.
