ELEAGUE Major 2018 Quarter Finals,

After a long 3 weeks of fantastic Counter Strike the final weekend is here and we are going to find out who are the the ELEAGUE 2018 Major Champions! In order to get to the finals of course we have to start with the quarter finals and work our way up. In this match up we will be taking a look at Faze Clan and Mousesports.

Faze Clan :

Faze Clan is showing up to this quarter final with a record of 3-0 and were the 3rd team to enter the "Legends" position last weekend at the ELEAGUE Major group stages. They did have a record of 3-1 in the qualifier where they had lost out to Vega Squadron, but in the group stages then took them on again to win and win very convincingly at a 16-3 scoreline. Faze are looking rather well heading into this Major and with SK playing with Phelps, Faze are the likely candidates for the title.

Maps for BIG are as followed; Mirage is 12-5, Train is 8-4, Overpass is 10-2, Inferno is 6-4, Cache is 4-2, Cobblestone is 0-3, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Mousesports :

Mousesports had some difficulty reaching this final Legends stage as they went 3-2 in both the Major Qualifier and the Major Group stages. A very inconsistent performance playing so many maps and having to go through so many teams just to reach this point. It's something I don't like to see out of one of my favorite teams, but non the less, I hope that Mouse can stabilize and get back where they need to be in order to take down Faze.

Space Soldiers' maps are as followed; Mirage is 13-6, Inferno is 5-6, Nuke is 8-1, Train is 6-3, Cobblestone is 6-1, Cache is 1-2, and Overpass is 1-0.

Map Pick/Ban :

Since this is a best of three game, we will only be seeing two bans from each side, which will be the perma ban plus one extra map, likely the best map from each side. This being said Mirage is the number one map played by both sides and I don't think that will be banned out. Cahe, Cobblestone, Nuke, and Overpass are the four bans that will likely come out from both sides, as Inferno, Mirage, and Train seem to have outstanding records on both sides and I don't think either team will want to ban out maps they've had success on.

Final Thoughts:

For me coming into this match up and the overall standings of the Major, we can see the scenarios that will have to happen for a team like Mouse to even get close to winning. The giants that are Faze are hungry for a title as they have fallen short to SK and company time and time again. If there ever was a time for Faze to win a Major over the Brazilians, this is the time. In this game I feel Mouse's Major run will come to an end and Faze will take it with relative ease. I'm hoping for a 3rd map, but I am not certain that it will go that far.
