FaZe Clan vs Luminosity

ECS Season 5 Finals,

ECS Finals round one prediction continue with the best of one series between that of European mixed team FaZe Clan and the Brazilian squad of Luminosity. Each of these teams qualified in the top four of the online league in their respective regions.

FaZe Clan :

FaZe Clan placed fourth overall in the ECS online league of the European Scene, this form was held in and out of different roster changes and substitutions. Main rifler and support player Olofmeister was on a break for most of the online ECS games, dealing with personal issues. He was set to come back for this finals and continue with the team after Xist was a stand-in for him in his absence. With Xist leaving the team for Fnatic and Olofmeister having to go on another break due to the personal issues that kept him from the game once before, Cromen from Heroic will be available for FaZe during this offline event.

Faze Clan's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 12-8, Cache is 12-3, Inferno is 9-6, Overpass is 6-7, Train is 5-3, Nuke is 2-3 and Dust 2 is 1-0

Luminosity :

Since the departure of star4 player Chelo to the NTC line-up that will soon get picked up by SK Gaming, Luminosity has gotten a hold of former Team Liquid support Steel to fill this role. Steel has been on this team once before and with his return, the team is somewhat stabilizing. Placing fourth in the Americas region of ECS Luminosity has made the offline finals and will compete for a chance at the prize money. However, compared to the majority of the team at this offline event, Luminosity is clearly outmatched. The level of play is sub-par compared to the rest of the field. I hope Luminosity can take a few wins on the way out the door, but in the pool, they are seeded, Luminosity is clearly not favored.

Luminosity's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 6-11, Train is 9-5, Mirage is 6-6, Cache is 2-8, Overpass is 4-6, Nuke is 0-3, and Dust 2 is 0-2

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of one series. Which means that each team will ban three maps and the map left over will be the one played. Faze Clan will want to take the fight to Luminosity and not give them any chance, they'll ban out all good maps for Luminosity including Inferno, Train, and Mirage. Luminosity will want some positive map choice, so they will ban Nuke, Dust 2, and Cache. Leaving Overpass where Faze Clan has a huge advantage.

Final Thoughts:

When we look contextually at these two teams, it's easy to see that Faze Clan out skill Luminosity very easily. This on top of the fact that Faze Clan's map pool is not only more diverse, but they have a higher win rate across all maps, it is a not contest to see that Faze Clan will be able to win over Luminosity in this best of one group stage match-up. Medium-high bet on Faze Clan
