FaZe ranked #1 from Europe will clash against fnatic ranked #9 from Sweden. The tournament (LAN), is well known IEM Katowice 2018. It has a prize pool of $500,000, and 16 teams tried to claim a piece of the cake.

This tournament has proven that it is one of a kind when favorites are eliminated early on. Teams like SK and loud9 are ranked very low, and an underdog such as fnatic has reached the grand final.

But, let's get back to our finalists.

These two teams have met 20 times in last year, FaZe has won ten times, and fnatic won 8x. There were two overtimes. FaZe won last five times, except a few days ago when they met, fnatic won 2-0, 16-8 and 16-11.

For the whole past year, FaZe has been switching between 1st and 2nd place on the world ranking, that is something to admire. Bringing GuardiaN and Olofmeister to their squad has proven to be the right decision.

These stats go a bit in fanatics favor since the win percentage is a bit higher than of clan FaZe.

I love looking at heat matrix, so here are the stats:

When FaZe plays against fnatic, rain has an excellent performance and karrigan. NiKo and Olofmeister have below 50% performance, but GuardiaN has the lowest performance that goes below 30%. This is good for fnatic since so far on the tournament GuardiaN has been their top fragger.

So if fnatic can manage to shut down rain and karrigan somehow, they can hope for the best.

On the other side fnatic when playing against FaZe have many problems. KRIMZ is by far the worst, hovering above 5% performance, flusha and golden are around 40%, Lekr0 30%, and the best one is JW with 48% performance.

Now to sum things up...:

The pressure is on FaZe; everyone expects them to win to prove that the lost game against fnatic a few days ago was a pure mistake. There are speculations that rain was sick when FaZe lost the match against fnatic. The one significant thing is that players like KRIMZ, flusha, and Lekr0 have performed good through the tournament and they always perform poorly, so this is a huge + for fnatic entering this matchup.

I strongly believe that fnatic can take at least 2 maps, so my bet is +1,5 on fnatic with 1,8 odds!...
