ESL One Cologne 2018,

Continuing into day 3 of ESL One Cologne 2018, we have many games to place bets on and see who will be moving onto the playoff positions as we still have twelve teams fighting for the crown of Cologne. In this tip, we take a look at a best of three series to be played between Fnatic and Faze Clan, both of these teams have been performing well this event so let's take a look at where they stand when put against each other.

Faze Clan :

With Olofmeister still away from the competitive Counter-Strike scene, Faze Clan have decided to fill the spot in with Cromen yet again. After the first place win at ESL One Belo Horizonte, Cromen proved that he could be apart of this well oiled Faze Squad. Cromen has allowed for Karrigan to step up and take on a more aggressive role, which is unexpected from the other teams who know him to be a more passive In-game leader that doesn't like to take risks himself but allowed his teammates to go and make plays. So far this event, Faze Clan has won a best of one against Boot-Dreamscape, which isn't anything amazing, but they did manage to 2-0 the new MIBR team in a best of three series.

Faze Clan's map pool looks like this; Mirage is 15-6, Cache is 11-2, Overpass is 6-7, Inferno is 7-5, Train is 4-4, Dust 2 is 5-1 and Nuke is 3-2

Fnatic :

Coming from Faze Clan, Fnatic's own Xist has recently come into the role of In-Game leader. Along with this switch-up, Draken from NiP also tagged along to join the core three of Fnatic to create a new dominant Swedish presence. JW has looked fantastic this event along with the many other members, and with this form, they have toppled the competition. Taking down North in a best of one, and then following it up with a 2-0 victory over BIG. The new additions to the team are doing great work and though I do expect them to do well, they could still have a few wrinkles to iron out.

Fnatic's map pool looks like this; Overpass is 4-8, Mirage is 7-4, Inferno is 3-5, Train is 5-1, Cache is 2-3, Dust 2 is 0-1 and Nuke is 0-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three series, each team will ban out two maps, pick two maps, and the leftover map will be the decider. Fnatic will have to ban out Dust 2 and Nuke since these are maps they haven't had any success on. This opens up an opportunity for Faze to eliminate all of the best maps for Fnatic. Faze Clan will ban out Train and Overpass. Leaving Cache, Inferno, and Mirage

Final Thoughts:

This is the upper bracket final of ESL One Cologne, the winner advances to the semi-finals and the loser to the quarterfinals. This is an important game because it guarantees and $11,000 bonus in prize money for the winner. Fnatic is looking stronger than I anticipated originally, but with the maps pools of both teams and Faze Clan have more direct contributions of games played in the last three months, I feel Faze Clan have a significant advantage headed into this game. medium bet on Faze Clan.
