Dreamhack Masters Marseille 2018 ,

With Dreamhack hosting what I think will be one of the best events of 2018, I am going to try and cover the majority of the matches to be played. Dreamhack Masters Marseille is a LAN event that will take place in Marseille, France.

Moving onto the second stage of Dreamhack Masters Marseille 2018, we find ourselves looking into the winners bracket of the group stages. With four team already eliminated and four other teams fighting to stay alive, the eight teams that won their best of one series will now face off in a best of three series for playoff qualifications. In today's tip we will be looking at Teams Cloud9 and Faze Clan.

Faze Clan :

Despite a prediction I made verbally a few days ago, Faze Clan have surprisingly come out the gate strong with their new member Xist. I predicted that having a new member that wasn't Olofmeister would be a hindered on their overall performance. Online Faze have struggled but so far on LAN Xist is holding his own. Winning 16-1 over team Envyus, and Xist going 16-5 respectively shows that he can compete at the level that Faze require him to. With this boosted confidence on LAN I can see Faze making a deep run this event.

Faze Clan's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 13-8, Cache is 13-5, Mirage is 13-4, Overpass is 6-7, Train is 4-3, Nuke is 3-2, and Cobblestone is the perma ban

Cloud9 :

Cloud9 have also proven my expectations wrong. FNS has been an excellent addition to the team and though the first debut game for FNS and company wasn't as strong as Faze Clan's winning in double overtime against the best French team on their own home soil is nothing to talk down upon. Cloud9 have the potential to compete well at this event and all members are picking up their slack and firing on all cylinders I can see Cloud9 making it to the playoffs over other teams but Faze might give them some trouble.

Cloud9's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 17-11, Mirage is 17-8, Train is 12-6, Cache is 10-5, Overpass is 9-4, Cobblestone is 1-2, and Nuke is the perma ban

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three and will involve each team banning two maps, picking one map each and the last map left over will be the decider map if the series goes to three maps. Faze will start out the banning phase by removing Cobblestone and Overpass. Cloud9 will answer pack with bans of Nuke and Cache. Faze will pick Inferno, Cloud9 will go with Train and Mirage will be the decider, as it is a map that both teams are comfortable on and neither will ban out.

Final Thoughts:

This game will be an interesting one, and even more so because it is a best of three series. The best team will win and move onto the playoffs. I foresee Faze overcoming the American powerhouse as I feel both teams are even when it comes to the impact that the roster changes are making, however as individual talent is concerned, Faze have the upper hand. I'm going for a low/medium bet on Faze Clan to win over Cloud9.
