Americas Minor - FACEIT Major 2018,

Tuning in on day two of the Americas Minor- FACEIT Major 2018, we find ourselves in the lower bracket taking a look at the two teams who lost their initial best of three series and wound up here. These two teams are eUnited and NRG. eUnited lost out to Rogue whilst NRG lost to Complexity. Both of these teams have their backs against the wall and are fighting for their lives in this game. The winner moves onto the losers bracket finals, while the loser gets eliminated from the event entirely. Let's take a look at these two teams.

NRG :

NRG has been dominating the lower tiers of North America or a few months now. Having a strong showing on the international stage as well, making it to the finals of Starseries i-League Season 4. With this success, they have soared through the numerous stages in order to get to this final qualifier event for the FACEIT Major. Cerq, the primary AWPer, has had an exceptional performance in recent form. Over the course of 78 maps, Cerq has amassed an HLTV rating of 1.2. Partnered along with the likes of Brehze, Ethan, and Fugly, NRG have been lead to a full onslaught on victories by the In-game leader of Daps. NRG have a bright future ahead of them.

NRG's map pool looks like this; Overpass is 15-3, Inferno is 10-7, Cache is 9-6, Mirage is 7-6 Train is 5-2, Nuke is 3-3 and Dust 2 is 0-1

eUnited :

The former Rise Nation squad got themselves a sponsor and with the stability of an organization the members of the team have found a great sense of pride and with it, success in tier 2 North American scene. Winning out each qualifier much like the counterpart of NRG, eUnited have staked their own claim in the journey to becoming a Major qualified team. Lead by Dapr with a rating of 1.09 the team follows suit with a renowned playstyle involving all members of the team. Moose currently sits at a rating of 1.08, Dazzle at 1-06, Ace at 1.05 and Relkys rounds them of with a 1.02 rating. A solid team, but I feel they will struggle against NRG.

eUnited's map pool looks like this; Inferno is 11-8, Mirage is 14-4, Cache is 6-7, Overrpass is 7-6, Train is 7-4, Nuke is 3-6, and Dust 2 is 0-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This is a best of three series, each team will ban out two maps, pick two maps, and the leftover map will be the decider. NRG will force eUnited onto maps they have an advantage in, banning out Mirage and Train. eUnited will have to ban out Overpass and Dust 2. The three maps will be Nuke, Inferno, and Cache.

Final Thoughts:

Taking a look at the past, these two teams have faced each other on five separate occasions, two of which were in a best of three series, NRG won them all. Though eUnited got close and took a map off NRG in both best of three match-ups, NRG's maps pool and solid players outmatch those on eUnited. Medium bet on NRG.
