Dallas Fuel vs Shanghai Dragons

It's time to board the Dallas Fuel hype train — there's just no other way to put it, really. We're still somewhat shocked at the fashion in which they rose to the top, primarily because it makes so very little sense. It came out of nowhere, frankly speaking, and it's just hard to wrap our heads around the whole thing. Still, there's no more doubt left: they're every bit as good as they look, and their dominant wins reflect that as well. These aren't flukes or wins earned through any sort of cheesing — Dallas truly are one of the best if not *the* best team in the Overwatch League right now.

Just writing such a sentence makes one feel... slightly insane, perhaps? This is unlike any narrative of the past — history is being made right now, and it's absolutely thrilling, to say the least! And, of course, no one's sure quite what to think or feel. It's like there's always another test for Dallas, another challenger, seemingly unassailable, and yet — based on empirical evidence — it stands to reason that Dallas will solve the Shanghai puzzle as well, much like they did with Houston, San Francisco, and Chengdu. They are so aggressive and in sync it doesn't even make sense. Doubly so if we factor in just hot scattered they were back at the start of the season which, mind you, was mere weeks ago. So kudos to Dallas' coaching staff — their work and methodology are astounding, to say the least.

Doha and Fearless, in particular, have been doing a lot of the heavy lifting, but Dallas as a whole deserve praise — they always find a way to figure it out in the very midst of chaos and emerge victorious. And, frankly, we're blown away. Every hyperbole and every superlative applies here; seeing a team no one gave much thought to coming into 2021 do so well is heart-warming. They've defied the odds and have even found a way to leave a mark in their own, distinct way.

If they beat Shanghai then they're all but guaranteed to become May Melee champions. What a dank timeline, one that still boggles the mind! If Fearless keeps this up, he'll no doubt become the frontrunner for MVP as well — it's only fitting given his impact and ability to push his team over the finish line. He's already the best Winston in the League, so he can only go up from here!
