Cloud9 vs Rogue

ESL Pro League Season 7 North America ,

After yesterday's successful call in the ESL Pro League of North America, we will go back into the Pro League and find another match up to predict. This time around we will be going for Cloud9 against Rogue. Both of these teams are in pretty decent form right now and of the two scheduled games to be played on Overpass and Train, both Rogue and Cloud9 are relevant on both maps. Let's dig deeper and find an X-factor on who will win out this match up. We will be focused on the first of the two games which will be played on Overpass.

Cloud9 :

After dropping out of Dreamhack Marseille in the quarter finals to Gambit, Cloud9 along with their newest member FNS are looking in good form. They won a few key maps on LAN and now are back in the States to try ad qualify for the LAN finals of the online leagues of ESL Pro League and ECS. I suspect Cloud9 to want to qualify for these LAN finals as the prize pool is large and the end of the online season is coming soon, so Cloud9 will be battling for the LAN spot with all they have. Tarik and Autimatic are the who members of Cloud9 to watch for. Tarik boasts a 1.31 rating on this maps and Autimatic has a whopping 1.36 rating to top it off.

Cloud9's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 17-11, Mirage is 16-9, Train is 11-7, Cache is 10-4, Overpass is 10-4, Cobblestone is 1-1 and Nuke is the perma ban

Rogue :

In an disappointing game for Rogue, one of my last tips had Rogue overtaking Luminosity in a best of three series. Unfortunately Rogue was only able to top Luminosity in one of those three games and lost the series 2-1. Rogue are a solid team and have been playing well so it'll be a nice series to watch as they duke it out with Cloud9. Solid players on the map Overpass include Sick with a 1.14 rating, and both Hiko and Cadian share a 1.10 rating. A solid showing of stats across the team.

Rogue's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 11-8, Inferno is 10-7, Overpass is 9-8, train is 11-5, Cache is 3-4, Cobblestone is 4-3, and Nuke is 3-1

Map Pick/Ban :

This will be a best of two online series with each individual map being counted as a best of one. Because of this we will look towards the first game on Overpass and both teams have a positive record however I give the map advantage to Cloud9 as they have a better over all win rate and their players have a higher overall rating.

Final Thoughts:

Going into this game and looking at both teams and what they are capable of, I find myself leaning towards the side of Cloud9. Though both teams have a positive record and Rogue is on a slow but steady climb to a top spot in North America, Cloud9 is already established and has proven to be one of the best teams. This along with each player boasting an above average rating on the map itself, I give this win to Cloud9. Medium bet.
