CLG vs GX

CyberPowerPC Extreme Gaming Series Winter 2017,

This game is going to be an interesting one and I hope to get a nice upset because of the recent news about CLG as an organization leaving the CSGO scene. This is much of a shock to a lot of people and the community as a whole, as CLG have always been one the the top North American Organizations even if their CSGO team has not been. I can see why CLG as a whole would pull out of CSGO as their team is not the greatest and continues to fall short when compared to the other North American teams, and for that reason, we will be looking for an upset today.

Ex-CLG:

As a whole this team has been on a lost cause ever since they got together in CLG. FNS the main in-game leader of the squad helped a little, but even his expertise hasn't done too much to help the squad. Posting mostly negative results on all of their played maps, this team has struggled in the past and will more than likely continue to do so.

"Nuke" is a quick to ban map for this roster, as it has gone unplayed in the past 3 months and will likely be banned in todays pick/ban. Starting from the top the map "Train" is the most played and has a record of 10-8. The only other positive map being played by this squad is "Overpass" where they barely squeeze out on top with a record of 4-3. "Mirage" is the second most played map and falls short with a record of 8-9. "Inferno" lies at a record of 7-9. "Cache" sits at 5-8, and lastly "Cobblestone" slides in with a record of 6-7.

GX:

GX has had some struggles as a team. With Sam "DaZeD" Marine originally starting the team back up after he and Braxton "swag" Pierce where unbanned, after intentionally throwing a game back in 2014. "DaZeD" however decided that competitive CSGO was not for him and has since left the team.

Maps for GX are similar to Ex-CLG but on their end "Overpass" is the permanent banned map for this team and will be a banned map come pick/ban time. "Mirage" being their most played map, sits at a negative record of 4-5. Following that is "Train" with a record of 3-5. "Cache" has a positive record of 4-2. "Inferno" is perfect with a record of 6-0. And lastly "Cobblestone" sits at the bottom with a 1-1 record.

Map Pick/Ban:

As I stated above, Ex-CLG will be banning "Nuke" first. Following that perma ban, comes GX's perma ban "Overpass". "Inferno" will likely be picked by GX and Ex-CLG will likely pick up "Train". The Following bans will be "Cache" and "Cobblestone" and "Mirage" will be the decider.

Final Thoughts:

In this matchup, Ex-CLG is definately the safer bet and I expect them to perform well. But at the same time, I know that they all as of yesterday have lost their jobs which is why their new team name is "Unemployed for Christmas". Which if you've ever been fired or let go, it can do some serious mental work on even the strongest of people. Because of this, I expect all Ex-CLG players to be upset and not willing to play at their fullest potential. GX should hopefully be able to get away with this game in 2 maps. Good Luck Everyone!
