Boston Uprising vs New York Excelsior

For our last match of the second day, we have a clash between the Boston Uprising and the New York Excelsior.

Now these two teams already fought during the preseason, with New York taking the first match 3-1. While it wasn't as clean as some might have expected, New York showed the world why they're considered a potential threat to Seoul, London and perhaps even Dallas. While it's still to early to hype them up as a serious contender until their DPS prodigy Flow3r (last seen taking people's heads off in the World Cup) becomes eligible to play, they do have some insane potential.

Even though the boys in blue and white lost to Seoul in somewhat convincing fashion on the last day of the preseason, they're heading into this match as the heavy favorites and with good reason. They already played against Boston and they even had additional time to further develop and figure out team dynamics.

As for Boston, it's really a mixed bag. They had good and bad moments overall, as they did better than most expected but when you put their victory in perspective you start to question their potential and how far they will go. They did manage to beat the Shanghai Dragons in the preseason but only barely. That victory lost a lot of it's meaning after seeing the Dragons get annihilated by the Los Angeles Gladiators in 4-0 fashion. (even after they had ample time to develop synergy and scrim other OWL teams) They did stay together during the last month to better prepare for the Overwatch League but it's questionable if that will be enough against such a powerhouse that is NYXL. It is a roster without any glaring leader or potential and when pitted against such clutch, high class players like Pine & Co. it's hard to give them any kind of chance going into this match. They will have to make more than a single change in their lineup sooner or later if they want to stay competitive with the best teams in the world.

This should be a very convincing win in favor of the New York Excelsior. With an insane DPS duo in Pine (who fell only to Seoul's Fleta) and one of the best Tracers in the world in Saebyeolbe, a fantastic tank lineup - Meko, Janus and Mano, it will be hard for Boston to fight back, even though they did have enough time to fix their issues from the first time around.
