Bets.net Challenger Series ,

The Bets.net Challenger Series an international online event that has been going on for some time now. It is just now coming down to the final bracket of eight remaining teams. The two teams facing off today are teams Avangar and The Fragsters. We'll break down both of these teams in a minutes but let's back up to talk about what's on the line for both of these squads. Not only is a couple thousand dollars worth of prize money available, but also the top four qualifying teams will be automatically entered into the Bets.net Master Series Season 5. Which is another ECS/ESL type Pro Series with more tier two to three teams. So a lot is as stake for this game because the loser will be eliminated and receive next to nothing, and the winner will guarantee themselves a spot in the Bet.net Master Series and few thousand dollars.

Avangar :

Avangar is a what I classify as a tier three CIS team. Whose been features in many events in recent time, their most notable by far was the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2017. Where though they did not get out of the group stages, they did show their capability to compete with top teams. Upsetting teams Rengades, Flipside, and Misfits. They did attract some attention from teams like Gambit and Navi; the two best teams in the CIS regions because their players were playing at such a high level that these teams wanted to recruit the stars. The two players to watch are Buster and Quickert. I have mentioned Quickert before and his notable contribution on eco rounds. He is also the highest rated player on the team currently.

Avangar's maps are as followed ; Mirage is 20-7, Overpass is 10-6, Cache is 10-3, Train is 9-4, Cobblestone is 7-6, Inferno is 8-2, and Nuke is the perma ban.

Fragsters :

Fragsters are the equivalent to Avangar, except in the Danish scene. They are by no means a top team, but they do have talent and have been catching the attention of higher tier Danish organizations like North and Heroic. Recently The Fragsters signed Refrezh. Who has done notable work for the team and is a solid addition to the line up. In terms of overall fragging potential they do have skill, though from what I've seen, their execution game has a lot to work on. I feel they have what it takes to compete at a high level but this game against Avangar will be the place to prove it to the world.

The Fragsters's maps are as followed ; Inferno is 11-3, Train is 10-4, Overpass is 5-6, Mirage is 4-5, Nuke is 6-1, Cache is 3-3, and Cobblestone is the perma ban.

Map Pick/Ban :

This game will be a best of three series, so we will look for two bans from each side, along with one pick from each side and lastly the remaining map will be the determining choice. Starting with Avangar, their perma ban is Nuke, which will effect Avangar greatly, but their actual ban will probably be Inferno. Taking away the best map for Fragsters and an average map for Avangar. Going the Fragsters we start with the perma ban of Cobblestone, which doesn't really effect Avangar in this series. The main ban will likely be Mirage, again taking away the best map and for the opponent and a sub par map for them. The reaming three maps will be Train, Overpass, and Cache. All maps where Avangar really have an advantage.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts on this match are that because Avangar have proved themselves to me to be a solid CIS team and that the selection of maps are definitely in their favor, they should be able to walk away with this one and become apart of the Bets.net Master Series Season 5. Medium bet on Avangar.
