iBUYPOWER Masters 2019

In this tip, we will be taking a close look at a best of one match-up between teams Astralis and Complexity in the first round of the iBUYPOWER Masters 2019. Team Astralis is favored in this matchup with the current odds at time of writing being a 1.11; they are also the team I am predicting to win this series. Let's dive into detail and back up why I feel this way.

Astralis:

Astralis is currently the reigning Major Champions and undoubtably the best team in the world. It will be honestly surprising to me if they do not win this entire event outright. The only exception to them not winning would be if Faze Clan with their new addition of 'Adren' somehow throws off their game plan. But against teams like Fnatic, Cloud9, and Complexity and many other in this event, the skill gap is staggering. As the days roll on and the HLTV top 20 list unfolds we really begin to see why this team is not only successful but probably one of the greatest Counter-Strike teams of all time. Each member of the current line-up has made the top 20 list of 2018. Xyp9x at #13, Glave #8, Magisk #7, Dupreeh #5 and soon Device will be revealed as either #1 or #2. (I feel #2 because S1mple is just too good to not be #1) This team is built and structured like no other before and I can see how this upward trend of continued dominance will persist throughout this year. Don't count out every team as Astralis can become vulnerable over time, but be careful betting against this team.

Complexity:

Since qualifying for Legends spot at the last Major, Complexity have catapulted into the spot light, only to be revealed as a team that seemed to just make a lucky run. Though Complexity has found some success in a few LAN events since then, they haven't been able to repeat the performance level they had at the Major. And since the Major they have replaced two members of that team. 'Yay' and 'Android' have both been benched and Complexity has signed 'Rickeh' and North American legend 'N0thing'. Though the 'N0thing' move is only temporary as he was brought in specifically to help them be able to compete in the legend spot at the major because to be fair, Complexity is the team in the top 8 to most likely lose that legend spot when the Katowice Major is done.

Maps:

Every map in this series goes to Astralis and the only map where Complexity has a higher win record is on Cache, which is Astralis' perma-ban. It's going to be a rough time for Complexity no matter what map is picked, and I recommend watching this game just to see how well a team like Astralis can really play. I will be tuning in for sure.

Final Statement:

Astralis are the best and it is hard to bet against the best unless their is a reason or hidden methodology behind it. Unfortunately in this case, I cannot see anything that would put Complexity in the winners circle in this game.
