Bet365 Review

Bet365 is one of the biggest and best names in online bookmakers; with over 1,700 employees and ranked as Britain’s 7th largest private company, there is immense support behind this betting site. With more than six million users in over 200 countries, that strong backbone is definitely needed!

Rest assured that the company is legitimate: they are licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission for sports, which includes esports, and financial betting, and by the government of Gibraltar for online games and casino features. Unfortunately, there is a rather large list of countries that cannot use this service, including the United States.

Pros and Cons

  • One-stop-shop for gambling
  • Great reputation
  • Swift payouts
  • Plenty of promotions
  • Best live betting menu
  • Weak esports bet selection
  • Buggy website

Betting Features

As far as betting features go, Bet365 is pretty high on the list. The odds themselves are generally fair, with fairly low profit margins for the house. This means that users are paid out pretty often. Users can place bets online, by call, or on mobile through a phone browser. Odds are also available in three formats: decimal, fractional, and American. This ease of access makes the site friendly for users around the world, and the convenience of constant access is nice.

The major area in which Bet365 is lacking would be more specialised mobile access in the form of an app. Such a large company could surely afford a few Android and iOS developers to market to a younger crowd!

One of the major attractive features of this site is their cash-out feature, which allows users to cash out mid-event. Instead of a traditional betting environment, this features allows bets that aren’t going as planned to be taken at a lower loss, and bets that are looking positive to be cashed out early. Choosing the amount of the cash-out is done via a slider tool, allowing some or all of the bet to be taken out.

However, the major downside to this site is the lack of diversity in esports coverage. Such obscure sports as darts, “Gaellic sports” and snooker have their own separate categories while all esports are lumped together into a single column. This shows a lack of understanding of the genre, but isn’t a huge red flag. The bigger issue is the lack of events to bet on, and lack of diversity in betting styles.

Again, there are currently only 6 live events to bet on. During a period of time in which there are hundreds of matches played across many games in any given week, this is pretty unacceptable. Hopefully, the Bet365 team will learn the value of the esports market sooner rather than later.

Also, esports betting sites often follow a fantasy team format, while Bet365 only has a standard “put money on this team to win” format. This could alienate some users more familiar with other websites like AlphaDraft or Vulcun, but is not necessarily bad in itself.

Finally, a major plus is the ability to bet across a huge variety of other sports and games under one account. This allows for a central username, password, and ewallet instead of spreading everything across several accounts. Multi-game users would enjoy this functionality.

Customer Support

One definite plus to Bet365 is the 24/7/365 customer support. There are many options to get in touch, including by live chat, e-mail, a call back service, a toll-free number, fax, and regular post. The customer service agents themselves are very professional; they respond quickly and knowledgeably, and with a bright and cheerful tone.

Not only are they always available, but the support agents also speak a variety of languages. The site’s customer service currently supports speakers of English, Spanish, German, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Czech, Hungarian, and Slovak.

Deposits and Withdrawals

Deposits and withdrawals are no big problem on Bet365; users can manage money with all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Maestro, and MasterCard, services like Electron, Laser, Neteller, Skrill, Paypal, InstaDebit, Click2Pay, Ukash, Paysafecard, EntroPay, or even bank wire transfers, fast bank transfers, and cheques. If you have some issues with self-control, you can even institute deposit limits through your account options. As for withdrawals, they are processed to the payment account from which the original deposits were made.

Bet365 has no charges or fees for the use of any of these services through their website. However, the quickness of deposits may vary. Card and digital wallet services are instant, but wire transfers can have a processing time of 3-10 business days and cheques can have a processing time of 5-28 business days. Make deposits in advance to make sure that this will not affect your ability to bet! The card holder’s name has to be the same on as the official name on the Bet365 account; otherwise, the account could be automatically frozen in an effort to combat identity fraud.

To go along with a global business, Pay365 also has a global monetary structure. They accept payments in all of the major currencies and some minor ones as well. See a full list in the sidebar.

As far as currency exchanges go, the exchange rate will be dictated by the Financial Times. Also, a recent upgrade to the currency exchange infrastructure of Bet365 will allow Indian residents to register, bet, and withdraw using Indian Rupees (INR) rather than U.S. Dollars (USD) or British Pounds (GBP).

Bet365 has a very quick payout speed; even the slowest payout will be just 1-2 business days. With an e-wallet option such as PayPal or Skrill, funds could be added to the account within a few hours. Bank transfers and credit and debit cards take a bit longer at 1-2 business days.

Drawing a conclusion about Bet365 is difficult; the site itself is amazing, with many useful and convenient features, but is clearly not targeting an esports audience. Some of the best parts of the site are the cash-out feature, fast payments with a variety of options for disbursement, and embedded live streams. However, it doesn’t really matter in an esports context since there is very little esports content on the site.
