2017 EU LCS Summer

The European League of Legends Championship Series is the premier competetive league in Europe, and it hosts some of the most recognized brands within western esports. The LCS Summer season features 10 teams as they fight for either one of the three 2017 World Championship seeds or to avoid relegations.

The teams that will participate are the top four of each group of the 2017 spring season and the two teams that made it in through the promotion tournament.

Other than the worlds seeds the teams are fighting for the lions share of the €200,000 (EUR) total prize pool, all the action is played and broadcasted from the Riot Games studios in Berlin, Germany.

Tournament Format

Promotion Tournament

Best-of-Five double elimination bracket.

The two 5th place teams from their respective groups in the 2017 EU LCS Spring season will be playing against the two qualified teams from the 2017 EU Challenger Series Spring, the team with the best score in the previous season choses their opponent out of the Challenger teams in the first round.

Regular Season

Best-of-three double round robin with two groups of five.

5th place of both groups move to the next seasons promotion tournament.

Top 3 in each group moves to playoffs.

Playoffs

Best-of-five single elimination bracket.

The winner of each group in the regular season are seeded into the semi finals.

After the quarter finals the bracket will be re-seeded so the lowest seed will face the highest seed in the semi finals out of the remaining teams.

Regional Finals

The teams that have earned the most Championship Points (CP) through out the 2017 Season will be seeded into a gauntlet style bracket with Best-of-Five series where the winners will earn the 3rd spot for the 2017 World Championship.
